About Us

JBrown Professional Group (JBPro) was founded in Gainesville, Florida in 1995. JBPro has developed a broad base of clientele in North-Central Florida, serving many public agencies and institutions, as well as many private sector clients. Jay Brown, PE, Founder and President, remains actively engaged in the Gainesville / Alachua County community and places a primary emphasis on serving the local North-Central Florida area. JBPro has successfully completed projects throughout Florida, from the Florida Keys to the Panhandle and many locales in between. We have also provided services in Georgia, Louisiana, and the Bahamas, and are capable of providing services in most locations. The JBPro staff is experienced, well trained, technically proficient, and committed to serving our clients with the utmost professionalism and an unwavering positive approach.

President

Jay Brown is a founding partner of JBrown Professional Group. He is the President and a Principal Engineer with JBPro, and is actively involved in the management of many JBPro engineering projects. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and has been a practicing engineer in the Gainesville area since 1986. He focuses on many project types including: site development, transportation, drainage, utility, and recreation projects. Jay is a highly experienced engineer, known for his careful attention to detail. As a result, he leads the design visioning for the firm. Jay is active in the Florida Engineering Society, the Builders Association of N. Central Florida, and his church community. He also donates his time, talent and energy to many other local charity organizations. Jay believes in a consistent approach of hard work, quality design, and client advocacy.

Vice President, Director of Survey

Troy heads our Surveying Department as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper with experience spanning all of North America. He has a BS in Geomatics Engineering and nearly a decade of hands on experience in all aspects of land surveying, remote sensing, laser scanning, UAS photogrammetry and geographic information systems. Since moving to Gainesville, Troy has become an involved member and built a close relationship with the local community. Prior to Gainesville, Troy worked in the Orlando and Tampa areas at two nationwide surveying and engineering companies. That experience has taught him to run an efficient operation, focused around one goal: Quick delivery of superior results for his clients. We couldn’t be happier to have Troy at the helm of our Surveying Department. He feels strongly that our lean, high-performing JBPro survey team provides the best value possible to our clients.

Staff Engineer

Logan is a Gainesville native and joined JBPro as a new civil engineering graduate from the University of Florida in 2013. She worked at JBPro for 2.5 years before deciding to leave Gainesville and moved to the mountains of North Carolina. After a year in them thar hills, she and her husband Randall realized they truly love North-Central Florida and returned back to Gainesville. She immediately rejoined JBPro in 2016. Logan is an excellent ACAD designer and extremely organized and dilligent in her project scheduling and project permitting. She is a delight to work with and a favorite among JBPro clients. When Logan is not working she is tending to her family farm and her myriad of animals including foxes, llamas, racoons, donkeys, goats, horses and who knows what else at any given time.

Staff Engineer

Roy is a native of Saint Cloud, Florida and a University of Florida graduate, who joined the JBPro staff in 2017. Roy has tremendous engineering skills and is an excellent communicator and engineering designer. Roy’s highly focused design approach and attention to detail push him to go the extra mile for every client and project. Roy loves Red Bull events, Nascar races, EDM & Hip-hop music, Gator sports and don’t even think about beating him in an MMA Cage Match.

Engineering Intern

Tim is a Gainesville native who joined JBPro as a civil engineering intern from the University of Florida in 2017. He has been working with JBPro for nearly 2 years while completing his Civil Engineering degree at the University of Florida. Tim is a driven young man who takes initiative and gets things done. Tim is an avid Gator fan. When he isn’t working, Tim can be found at almost every Gator athletic event, on the road and at home. He also loves hiking and bringing his engineering skills to the kitchen as a talented chef. This well rounded young man understands the value of commitment to excellence and we are impressed with the addition he has made here at JBPro.
