Regents Park
Project: Regents Park
Location: Downtown Gainesville, Florida
Client: AMJ Inc. of Gainesville
Budget: $5,000,000 +
Time Frame: 1999-2005
Regent’s Park, a community of 45 residential homes inspired by historic Washington DC row houses, was built adjacent to the Commerce Building in the historic district of downtown Gainesville. Originally the site of several city parking lots, this project revitalized the area with new downtown homesites, classic architecture, and improved streetscapes. The project included the reconfiguration of nearby local streets, NE 3rd St, NE 2nd Ave, and NE 4th St, to accommodate on-street parking and provide additional parking for the new residences. Brown & Cullen, Inc. provided planning and civil engineering design services for both phases of Regents Park and the adjacent Commerce Building project.
