BCI provided overall master planning for the new UF Eastside Campus on Waldo Rd. (SR 24), in Gainesville, Florida. The UF Eastside Campus is a 14.27-acre institutional campus formerly owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Due to many older buildings and an aging infrastructure, UF has embarked on a complete renovation of the campus. BCI provided overall campus wide master planning services, and civil engineering services for the first 2 major capital projects on campus; the Powell Hall Structures Lab and the new UF Eastside Campus Office Building (ECOB). The ECOB project is an 80,000 SF, 4-story office building that houses various University of Florida departmental administrative functions. The project design included design of a 400+ space parking area, as well as water, sewer, stormwater, and roadway improvements. Significant permitting effort was required including; master stormwater management permitting with SJRWD, FDOT permitting for new turn lane and road improvements within Waldo Road (SR 24), and FDEP NPDES permitting for erosion & sedimentation control.
