UF Veterinary Medicine - Shealy Drive Parking Lot
Project: UF Veterinary Medicine - Shealy Drive Parking Lot
Location: University of Florida Campus , Gainesville, Florida
Client: UF Facilities Planning & Construction
Budget: $610,000
Time Frame: 2010-2011
The University of Florida, in need of additional parking solutions for the Veterinary Medicine College, hired Brown & Cullen to design and permit this new parking facility. This project included re-development of an existing limerock parking lot on the west side of Shealy Drive, south of SW 16th Avenue, into a 164-space paved and striped parking lot with curbing, lighting, landscaping and irrigation improvements. In addition to the parking lot, a covered bus shelter facility was added on the east side of Shealy Drive, and improvements to Shealy Drive itself included pedestrian crosswalks and a roadway widening, necessary to accommodate the addition of turn lanes. Stormwater management improvements included Low-Impact Development (LID) strategies. The project was constructed with the CM delivery method and was completed on time and within budget.
