Corry Village Utilities Infrastructure Improvements

Originally completed in March 1959, to provide housing for veterans of WWII and their families, the William W. Corry Memorial Village, also known as Corry Village, is a multi-family community providing graduate and family housing at the University of Florida campus. The project campus is a 19.3 acre site located at the northwest corner of Village Drive and Museum Road, just north of Lake Alice. Brown and Cullen Inc. (BCI) was hired by UF DHRE to provide planning, design, and construction administration services for this utilities infrastructure project. The project involved providing new utility services to each of the campus’ 15 existing residential buildings, and 2 proposed future buildings. The new utility services included: potable water, fire protection, primary electrical, wastewater, and roof drain stormwater connections. The project also involved low impact development (LID) stormwater improvements to the campus, and an extensive offsite primary electrical duct bank extension to the campus. The main objective was to upgrade aging infrastructure and provide new utility services for the campus buildings, which will aid the future renovation of the existing buildings and the addition of the proposed new buildings.
