GRU Design Standards and Construction Details

Brown and Cullen was hired by Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) to update their Design Standards & Construction Details Manual, which had not been updated in many years. The Manual included design standards and construction details for GRU’s Potable Water, Wastewater, and Reclaimed Water utilities. The Manual documented GRU’s design and permitting standards, installation requirements, and construction detail requirements for each of the three utility systems. The Manual was developed with great attention to detail, utilizing BCI’s extensive experience with GRU’s design process and standards, along with excellent coordination and participation by GRU’s water and wastewater departmental staff. The end result was an excellent design and construction aid that has been implemented digitally on GRU’s website.
