GRU - Lift Station 92 Force Main Improvements

Brown & Cullen was hired by GRU to help them implement a new wastewater force main improvement project along NW 27th Place in western Alachua County. This project included the design of 2,200 LF of new 12” PVC sanitary sewer force main to replace an existing active 8” CIP force main that was over capacity. The project was required to better handle the existing wastewater force main discharges from GRU Lift Stations 92 & 53. The design was carefully planned to implement necessary construction sequencing so the existing force mains and lift stations were not shut down for extended periods. The project also involved attentive neighborhood coordination since existing residential driveway connections and roadside swales needed to be torn out and rebuilt to install the new force main. Construction coordination and scheduling required maintaining access to all neighboring residences throughout the construction process. Permitting activity included FDEP NPDES and Alachua County Right-of-Way Use Permitting.
